AutoMap: Matching Your Columns

When you open a feed built on a template, AutoMap has usually already done most of the work: it scores every source column against the template's fields and pre-fills the closest match. A 40-field feed is typically most of the way mapped before you touch anything.

How matching works

AutoMap compares each template field to your source columns using name similarity and common synonyms - so product_title matches title, img_src matches image_link, and sale matches sale_price. Each suggested match shows a confidence indicator.

Confirming and tweaking

• High-confidence rows are ready to go - skim them to confirm.
• Lower-confidence rows are flagged so you can accept or repoint them.
• Any template field AutoMap couldn't match is left empty for you to map by hand.

Re-running AutoMap

If you add columns to your source later, re-open the feed and AutoMap picks up the new columns without disturbing the mappings you've already confirmed.

When to map manually

AutoMap fills the output column; it doesn't invent values you don't have. For values that must be computed, composed, or conditional, use a Math, Concatenation, or Conditional field - see the Transforms & Logic section.
